I shot this Hurricane Laura damage video on August 29, 2020 when I went to Lake Charles to survey the damage and check on friends. Based on the still images and video I’d seen, I knew I’d see widespread damage.

I was shocked to see just exactly how bad it was. The images and videos can’t quite deliver the scale of the damage. Hurricane Rita was a powerful storm that ravaged the region. Hurricane Laura was a much more powerful storm.
