If a tough environmental problem has you stuck, Wynn can help.

Wynn is a second generation civil engineer who got his start working for his father’s engineering firm in Indiana, starting out on the survey crew. He worked his way up to crew chief and, after graduating from high school, earned his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Purdue University.

Wynn’s early work included a variety of civil engineering projects that included water, wastewater, subdivision layout, and road projects. One rural water distribution system had over 100 miles of water distribution lines, two elevated water tanks, and two high production water wells.

His early wastewater experience included work on a town’s sewage collection and treatment system that included sewage collection lines, sewage pump stations, and an activated sludge treatment plant.

Wynn went on to become a licensed sewage treatment plant operator, where he learned what really works (and what doesn’t) for his future projects. Designing projects with operation and maintenance in mind reduces change orders and everyday operational headaches.

Wynn joined a firm in the big city (Indianapolis) where he worked to analyze flows within the interceptor sewer system (up to 120″ in diameter). Wynn was instrumental in developing an algorithm to combine circular chart depth data along with velocity profiles into actual flow data.

Wastewater brought Wynn to Louisiana in 1980. Wynn is the only person who’ll ever admit he was carried south by sewage.

Wynn’s design experience includes large diameter gravity interceptor sewers, sewer force mains, and potable water distribution mains.

Wynn incorporated his own firm in 1987. Since then, he has worked on hundreds of environmental projects and has been the principal-in-charge on over 2,000 projects.

When the Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA) was passed, Wynn knew schools across Louisiana would need help conducting their asbestos inspections and developing asbestos management plans. So he embarked on a whirlwind tour of the state to offer services to schools. As a result, our firm conducted more asbestos inspections and developed more asbestos management plans for schools than any other firm in Louisiana.

In the early 2000’s, mold related litigation made national headlines, bringing about rarely before seen emphasis on mold and moisture problems. Wynn positioned the firm as a regional leader in helping clients manage mold and moisture problems, and avoid and solve construction defects and building enclosure problems.

He developed the firm’s master asbestos specifications as an industry pioneer in Louisiana. He also designed the firm’s mold remediation specifications and is a Principal Engineer on the firm’s engineering projects.

Wynn is a Registered Professional Engineer (Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee, and Texas) and a member of the following organizations:

National Institute of Building Sciences (NIBS), Louisiana Engineering Society, American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM), and American Society of Civil Engineers.

Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine Industrial Hygiene Advisory Board (2003 and 2004).

The board reviews the ABET Accreditation and Self-Study Process, Program Requirements (admission and graduation), Curriculum and Courses, Student Recruiting and Retention, Student Capstones and Internships, and Laboratory-Based Coursework in the Distance Learning Curriculum for the Industrial Hygiene Program.

Wynn often serves as a speaker at professional conferences.

Examples include the Arkansas Waterworks and Water Environment Association, American Society for Hospital Engineering, Alexandria Chapter of the Louisiana Engineering Society, Lake Charles Chapter of the Louisiana Society of Certified Public Accountants, Louisiana Realtors, Louisiana Certified Public Accountants Annual Meeting, Louisiana Conference on Water Supply, Sewage & Industrial Waste – Annual Meeting, Louisiana Rural Water Association Annual Meeting, American Water Works Association, Southwest Section Annual Meeting, Building Owners and Managers Association, Construction Specifications Institute (CSI), Louisiana School Facility Managers Association (LSFMA), Louisiana School Board Association, Louisiana Joint Engineering Society Conference, Tri-State Engineering Societies (Arkansas, Louisiana, & Mississippi), and the International Facility Management Association (IFMA) International Meeting.

Wynn has served as an expert witness in numerous legal cases.

Wynn’s expert witness philosophy is that he is a friend of the court. His job is to give an engineering opinion that will help the trier of fact reach a reasonable decision. He tells it like it is.
